Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Anxiety category:
Where once we had been satisfied to measure up to our peers, now we have to outdo them and be different, unique and never-been-done-before in the history of the world creative people. It is no wonder that we have an anxiety attack while working on our latest project. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Artists category:
The main difference between the average person and the 'Artist' is the focused drive. An Artist is driven sometimes to the exclusion of all else... often has to be reminded to join the rest of the world once in a while. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Composition category:
All you need to do is walk away from your painting several feet, turn around and look. This... will keep you looking at the entire composition all the way through the process. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Dealers category:
I stopped dating my work after a gallery owner refused to put work in a show that was more than three years old, "It has become redundant now that it is over three years old - why would you show it?" she asked, to which I replied, "You have worked here for over three years - are you redundant?" (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Drawing category:
From time to time I like to leave my pencil lines visible in the paint, whether acrylic or oil, just to remind the viewer that it all starts with a drawing. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Dreams category:
If you are an artist, you are also a dreamer... (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Edges category:
Edge quality is always a challenge in acrylic but not impossible. My method lately is thin transparent glazes that seamlessly overlap in most cases, and the tool I have found most valuable in transitioning one colour into another is my Finger. Quickly, while the paint is wet, rub the edges off into the outlying area and it disappears into the layer of colour beside seamlessly. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Fear category:
The one thing that can stop you in your art career faster than fear of failure is the... fear of success... the truth is that more often than not this is the fear that stops the most talented among us. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Flow category:
Flow can only truly be achieved when we are willing to let go of the outcome and just play. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Goals category:
Why is goal setting so important? The short answer is without a goal you have no way of determining whether or not you have moved yourself forward. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Habit category:
Get into the habit of painting all of the painting, all of the time... work your paint brush through all the quadrants of the canvas... (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Influence category:
We are all the sum total of every artist we ever had the pleasure to view their works. Every artist is taught by those that came before. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Money category:
Not all artists will see riches from their art, but their art is the riches they leave behind. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Obsession category:
I am like the obsessive compulsive who keeps going back to the door to make sure it's locked - I keep going back to my easel to create a painting... (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Pets category:
I like dogs, but it's like having a 2-year-old around all the time. Cats and Art studios are a natural mix - cats mind their own business most of the time and when they think you are too tense they remind you to take an affection break. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Rules category:
There are no Rules, just really good advice. (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
Sandra Taylor Hedges - From the Solitude category:
Creativity needs the company of creativity. An artist alone is an artist struggling... (Sandra Taylor Hedges)
